Buttermilk Drop Biscuits

There are just some things which are very hard to make gluten free, that light and flaky buttermilk biscuit you’ve loved for years is one of them. However, if you are missing biscuits and gravy, or a warm biscuit with your soup, this is the recipe for you! Give it a try, I know you’ll love it as much as we do!

Buttermilk Drop Biscuits
  • 1 ¼ c GF flour
  • ¼ tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ c oil
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • ½ c buttermilk or sour cream (buttermilk is better)
  1. Combine dry ingredients. Add wet ingredients and stir until blended. Drop by large spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
  2. Makes 6 to 8 large biscuits.
